East Village has undergone a lot of changes in the past few years and has emerged as one or the trendiest neighborhoods in downtown San Diego.  Because the neighborhood caters to out-of-towners, baseball fans, and locals alike, the restaurant scene also reflects that variety.  On Monday, February 13th, the Grub Sprawl’s 2012 season begins in this metropolitan neighborhood to highlight its growing restaurant scene. East Village restaurants will provide a diverse range of flavorful cuisine that makes for a convenient dining and walking experience.

For one night only (6pm to 10pm), East Village’s favorite restaurants will be offering delectable $5 signature dish specials! To acquire the special, interested parties can pick up a free wristband in front of Hotel Indigo at 509 9th Ave or Bub’s at the Ballpark at 715 J St.  Wristband distribution begins at 5:45 PM. Just show up to a participating restaurant wearing the wristband during the event’s hours and you’ll be eligible for the specialty dish.

Participating restaurants include Bub’s at the Ballpark, El Vitral, Hotel Indigo, Village 631Knotty Barrel, Proper Gastropub, East Village Tavern & Bowl, Lolita’s at the Park, Smashburger, Toast Enoteca, Bootlegger, and Mission Brewery.  The Grub Sprawl is sponsored by: Pacific San Diego Magazine, KyXy 96.5 Radio, Sophie@ 103.7, DiscoverSD Insider Hook-up, OUTnSD, and Dimensional Silk Screen, Inc.
