Somehow Maloney's Tavern manages to maintain a low-key vibe while sandwiched between Gaslamp's hyper-hip clubs. There's no dress code and a $5 cover, which is pennies in this San Diego neighborhood. On the contrast, the line outside is not low-key, but once you descend into the basement-level Irish bar, all is forgiven.
